NEXT MILESTONES:
* 11/18 - CHECKPOINT #3- 4-5 PM @ the Crystal Lake Public Library (1st Floor) - work on requirements. Bring your LOG Worksheet, a Pen or Pencil.
* All scouts should be done with Req #6, and have #7 checked by your parents and Mr. Des Biens
* 10/28 - CHECKPOINT #2 - 4-5 Library
* 10/21 - CHECKPOINT #1- RESCHEDULE Bernotas / North School Track 2-3 PM - Finish assessment tests and work on requirements - Bring your LOG Worksheet, Water and a Pencil.
* 9/27 - Email Goal and Contact Info to Mr. Des Biens - 4 Scouts done
* 9/30 - First Personal Fitness Assessment test at North School track (Reqs # 1, 6, and start #7) - completed for 3 SCOUTS (If you did not complete this, you can check with Mr. Des Biens on how to make-up the assessment).
UPDATES
* Personal Fitness Assessment Test - You should be done with your four (4) Assessment Tests (Req #6 all 4 Parts)...If you haven't done so yet, you can complete and record on your own, or work with Mr. Des Biens to arrange a time to help you get that done.
Here is what still needs to be done:
Req #1 Get a statement from your dentist saying that your teeth have been checked and cared for.
Req #6 Have one of your parents complete the BODY COMPOSITION TEST (a-e) and record the measurements in your Personal Fitness Workbook. Complete all 4 fitness test sections and update your workbook.
Req #7 Once #6 is done - outline a comprehensive 12-week physical fitness program using the results from your Fitness Assessment Tests (#6)...(See the MB Requirement for details). Review with your Parents and Mr. Des Biens. This should be done by 10/16.

GETTING STARTED - First Steps (posted 9/19/12)

With parent permission each scout should to do the following:
1. Download the Personal Fitness Merit Badge worksheet / workbook from http://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Merit_Badges
Note: If you do not have a Merit Badge Binder, I strongly recommend that you to get one. This is a great place to keep all your "In Progress" workbooks and completed MB Cards.
2. Review all the requirements
3. Set a realistic goal date to be completed with the merit badge. I ____________(your name) will do my best to complete this Merit Badge by ________________ (end-date). Discuss this goal with your Parents and Mr. Des Biens the next time we meet.
4. Check your schedule to see if you are available Sunday Afternoon 9/30, from 2-4 PM for the Fitness Tests described in requirement #6. It will take around 90 minutes.

09/19/12 - Scoutmaster Approval
- SM has approved the list of scouts that requested to start this MB
- Mr. Des Biens will get signed MB Applications (Blue Cards) for those scout
